Stem Embryonic Cells : o
Hey everyone, I finally got some research done on stem embryonic cells that Pres. Obama put funding back on for research. What I've learned is really cool and I think you all should check it out. Embryonic stem cell (ES cells) are stem cells derived from the inner cell mass from an early stage embryo known as the plasticity. They are mostly found in multi cellular organisms. Stem cells are characterized by their ability to renew themselves by mitotic cell division. They differentiate into a diverse range of specialized cell types. ES cells are one of two types of mammalian stem cells that are most broad. Because of their plasticity and potentially unlimited capacity for self-renewal, ES cell therapies have been proposed for regenerative medicine and tissue replacement after injury or disease. The funding put into ES cell research could possibly cure many dangerous viruses and diseases and change the future of medicine. I believe this was an excellent idea for Pres. Obama to do it shows what mistakes he's correcting from formal Pres. Bush and help change the future. I also believe that Bush let his ethnic beliefs get in the way of him doing his job causing him to believe that using embryos for this matter is morally wrong. But hey, this is my opinion towards this subject.
